THE ART DIRECTOR assists the Chief Creative Officer and Creative Director with every aspect of completing creative and production projects through management of available resources.

Reports to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and provides concepts for projects/campaigns to meet approved strategic marketing objectives.
  • Works closely with account services as a liaison to the creative department, helping the creative department sell their best marketing solutions to account executives and the client.
  • Coordinates with the Production Manager and works directly with the Traffic Manager to schedule creative/production jobs per Creative Director’s direction.
  • Attends creative input meetings in the Creative Director’s absence or at the Creative Director’s direction.
  • Sells creative internally or to clients at the Creative Director’s or Account Executive’s request.
  • Has working knowledge of all software programs needed to fulfill approved creative concepts.
  • Represents the agency at creative/professional/civic functions.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication and team building skills.
  • Effective communicator. Can relay ideas in a logical manner as well as delivering concise written and verbal communication.
  • Creative writing/copywriting proficiency is a plus.
  • Demonstrate solid conceptual thinking and design skills with acumen for solving complex business problems.
  • Ability to evaluate ideas and concepts for validity. Prior experience in branded content, social media, digital, print and outdoor production services or related field a plus.
  • Projects confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Diverse/flexible creative style.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and passion for integrated marketing that translates into the creation of exciting marketing ideas.
  • Three to five years’ agency experience desired, with proven track record of partnering effectively with other creative multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel and provide creative direction throughout production process.
